Dr. Ioana Smarandita LACAU

Dr. Ioana Smărăndița Lacău is a primary physician in Radiology and Medical Imaging, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Magna cum laudae.

Physician with particular experience and renown in advanced cardiac imaging: cardiac MRI, 3T cranio-cerebral, spine, musculoskeletal, abdominal and pelvis MRI examinations. He trained under the guidance of renowned professors such as Prof. Dr. Șerban Georgescu, Prof. Dr. Maria Dorobanțu, Prof. Dr. Constantin Zaharia, Conf. Dr. Daniela Bartoș.

In 2011 she is accepted in the Teach the Teachers program of the European Society of Radiology.

She participated as Partner in numerous projects: the TRANSTEM research project - "Stem cells in the infarct area", research project conducted under the direction of Prof. Dr. Prof. Dr. Maria D. Maria Dorobanțu from Floreasca Emergency Hospital, Bucharest; Biogen - NeuroRX study for the efficacy of interferon treatment in patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis; Biogen DECIDE EXTEND - NeuroRX study for patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis; International Study of Comparative Health Effectiveness with Medical and Invasive Approaches (ISCHEMIA) grant from the U.S. National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health USA.
